U.S toy safety certification

While toys sold in the European Union are required to carry the CE mark, no such mark exists for toys in the US yet.  The American National Standards Institute (ANSI) and the Toy Industry Association (TIA) are currently developing the TIA safety mark under the Toy Safety Certification Program (TSCP).

Supermopi, LLC is taking a proactive approach.  In July, 2008, we have actively participated in the first TSCP seminar series in Rosemont, IL, reviewed the draft TSCP recommendations, and found that no draft requirements go against current manufacturing practices.  Please click on the image to read the full user manual and warning text for the superMOPI toy.  Read carefully and always follow these instructions when using the product.

CE mark

The CE mark is a declaration by the manufacturer located within the European Economic Area that the product complies with the essential health and safety requirements of the relevant EU directives. Products being sold in the European Union have to carry a visible CE-marking, sale without it within the EU is not permitted.

GS mark

The GS mark (Geprüfte Sicherheit = tested safety) is a well-known and respected impartial certification mark indicating to the consumer that the product, its user manual, and its manufacturing process have been tested by an authorised certifying institute such as TUVRheinland and certified according to the German Equipment and Product Safety Act. The GS mark can only be used on products that have a valid GS certificate granted by a trusted certifying institute.
